Buying Engagement RingsWe hope you find our guide to buying engagement rings useful. Below we cover all the things you should know before buying. If you have any questions please just ask. What Style of Engagement Rings Should I Consider? It is very important to think about your partner's lifestyle and personality to determine which engagement rings will be suitable. For instance, engagement rings with the diamonds set low into the ring, may suit an active outdoor sportswoman. A really outgoing person might prefer engagement rings with very elaborate design. Learn more about Engagement Rings Styles Diamond ShapesDiamonds can be cut into all kinds of shapes. The most common is of course round, but princess shaped diamonds are also very popular. Our engagement rings feature lots of different shapes and you can choose to customise a ring by picking an unusual shape. Diamond Carat SizeThe weight of a diamond is measured in Carats. A Carat is approximately 200 milligrams. A one carat round brilliant cut diamond is approximately 5mm in diameter. The chart below shows approximately how diamond carat size relates to size in mm. You can customise any of our engagement rings with a larger diamond if you like. Learn more about Diamond Carat Size Diamond ColourThe most valuable diamonds are like crystal clear water. The chart below shows the diamond colour grade. Cheaper diamonds are often tainted grey, brown or yellow. We only use grades above H in our Signature engagement rings, and above J in our Modena engagement rings. Learn more about Diamond Colour Diamond ClarityDiamonds are a natural substance and most have tiny blemishes and marks. In grades above SI2 these are so small they can't be seen by the untrained naked eye. We only use SI2 or better in our engagement rings. Learn more about Diamond Clarity Diamond CutA natural rough diamond has to be cut and polished to make a diamond suitable for using in engagement rings. Diamond Cut refers to the quality of the cut. We only use very good or excellent cut diamonds in our engagement rings. Learn more about Diamond Cut Diamond CertificateYou should only ever buy a diamond engagement ring which is accompanied by an independent diamond certificate. This helps ensure that the diamond is of the quality and size that you paid for.

Platinum, whilst more expensive than gold, has the benefit of being hypoallergenic and more resilient to scratching compared to gold. You can choose one or both of the following options when requesting a ring sizer: 1) receive a ring sizer you can print on your own computer at home, which is ideal for comparing to an existing ring if you are keeping the purchase a secret; 2) receive a physical ring sizer in the post, which is ideal for measuring a finger.
