Alice Herald, 1791 Product Manager

Even as a young child Alice had a love of art, and showed great promise at an early age, even winning awards whilst still at school. She went on to study at Marlborough College and later gained a BA Honours in Jewellery Design from Central Saint Martin's College of Art and Design in London, both very prestigious art colleges. Her education provided fantastic opportunities to collaborate with top designers and prestigious companies such as Goldsmiths, De Beers and Cartier. Whilst in London she worked for three years for Benney, who are Goldsmiths and Silversmiths to the Queen.

Alice has travelled widely enjoying the vibrancy of each culture she has found herself in: for example studying jewellery design at the  Insituto d'Allende in Mexico.  She presently lives among the stunning snow capped mountains and crystal clear lakes in the South Island of New Zealand, although she is returning to the UK to be married to her fiancée later this year. Given such a stunning natural environment to design in, it isn't at all surprising that her contemporary designs have such a beautiful clean aesthetic.

Alice's other love in life is sports rehabilitation. She is actively involved in disabled alpine skiing. Her days off from designing and managing at 1791, are spent running and hiking in the mountains, rock climbing or relaxing by the lake in idyllic Lake Hawea.
